ABOUT THE DESIGNER
What was your first knife?
I honestly can't remember... I can remember having the old vintage Imperial knives when I was only 6 or 7 years old. My first custom knife was a Chuck Stapel piece my dad purchased for me around 1988 while on vacation to the Oregon coast, Canon Beach if I remember correctly.
Do you collect anything, or have a hobby that consumes you?
If you talk to my wife, 100% I collect too many things. From books, to mugs, and old Pentax film cameras... but, my lifelong passion has been and IS knives and edged tools. I have a decent collection of production and custom knives and axes.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what is it?
Growing up I was very picky, and didn't really have much exposure to ethnic food. While maybe not quite a "foodie" I love food and especially different ethnic foods. I'm also one of those guys that can eat the same thing days and meals in a row... Eating the same thing every meal for the rest of my life would quickly turn into a chore, no matter what you choose. I'm going to pick Salmon, basmati rice and steamed broccoli. This is a meal I enjoy and eat several times a week already. I thought about choosing something I didn't particularly like, because you will come to hate it... but went with a choice I like and that is relatively healthy also.
What is your favorite movie?
John Wick, although the new Dune movies are VERY GOOD! I also like Forrest Gump. With that said... I'm WAY more of a book guy than a movie guy!
What’s the worst movie you have ever seen?
Postcards from the Edge!
If money is no object, do you build the ultimate overland rig, or a high horsepower pavement monster?
While I do like fast cars, I would opt for the overland rig without hesitation! I have a VERY difficult time staying close to posted speed limits... I also love the idea of overlanding adventure and exploration!
Do you carry the same EDC items daily or do you mix it up?
